This is a regular feature post on my blog. See the archives here.
- A week of temperatures in the low to mid-80’s. In Central California. In July. Awkward, but I’LL TAKE IT!
- Also awkward, how the heck can it be the middle of July already?
- People who talk so softly on the phone that I am embarrassed to ask them a third time to repeat what they just said. Just speak the eff up.
- One of our new neighbors burned something in her kitchen the other day and the smell in our apartment upstairs was absolutely repulsive. I am glad I went down to figure out where the smell came from… otherwise I could have easily contacted the fire department for nothing, but the smell was really that strong.
- Toddlers and Tiaras on TLC. Strangely fascinating, confusing and awkward. Definitely awkward.
- My hair seems to “get tired” of certain hair products (that initially work great) after a while and I have to switch products. Do you have that happen, too?
- A new laptop. Weeee! (Separate post to come.)
- The fact that my parents are going to be here in 9 days and that my vacation will begin in exactly two weeks. Can. not. wait. Am I a broken record?
- Dreyer’s Fruit Bars Lemonade. So refreshing in the summer (and only 80 calories)!
- Knowing that I am one lucky lady to have a few very special friends that I can call any time of the day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Freshly made vegetable soup. A summer favorite.
- Harry Potter movie marathon on TV last weekend. I didn’t get to see all of them, but I am looking forward to seeing them all eventually. #SummerofHarry
- Pretty new curtains in our living room.
- Related to that: the fact that I will – very, very soon – be able to post pictures of our new place. Finally. I know, I’ve kept you waiting, but the wait will soon be over! :)
- The pretty jewelry that the hubs brought me back from a trip.

July 14, 2011 at 5:18 amAh, can’t wait to see pictures of your new home. :)
And Harry Potter, oh my gosh. I’m excited and sad at the same time – why does it have to end? :(
When are you going to watch the movie??
This thing with the hair products happens to me, too from time to time. It’s annoying.
Here’s to a happy weekend. Nearly there!
XOXO. Lots of love!

July 14, 2011 at 9:26 amI think that’s definitely common wth hair products, especially the drug store brands. They start to build up in your hair and aren’t as functional after a while.
Can’t wait to see the new place!

July 14, 2011 at 10:03 amI cannot believe it is halfway through July already! For that matter, how is the year over half done? Ridiculous.
Can’t wait to see pictures of the new place. :)

July 14, 2011 at 1:09 pmThe professionals will tell you that you should switch hair products every few months, because hair can become dull if you use one product too long. Sounds like your hair product issues are pretty normal.
Part of me can’t believe it’s already mid-July. But another part? Thought it would never come (says the girl who has only had one day off work so far this year!).

July 14, 2011 at 2:22 pmHaha I hate it when people are so quiet on the phone, too! Frustrating.
That’s awesome your parents are going to be here so soon! (Err, there! You’re quite a ways away from me! Haha.)

July 14, 2011 at 8:32 pmLow mid80’s at your place means low 60’s at my place. I DO NOT LIKE IT!
BTW, I cannot wait to see the pictures from your apartment!

July 18, 2011 at 4:41 amYay, pictures!!! Can’t wait.
I know what you mean about the hair-problem. I have the same.
Want to watch the Harry Potter movie coming weekend. I hope we manage to go.

July 18, 2011 at 2:00 pmToddlers and Tiaras is SO awkward. It’s uncomfortable to watch, for sure, especially that creepy male pageant judge. He creeps me out.
