Friday Tidbits

I worked Monday through Wednesday this week, while most of my co-workers were already off a day early. It was nice  to be the only one at the office. I get so much more done, when I am by myself and the icing on my cake was that I finally found a work-around to a software processing problem that I had been working on for 2,5 weeks. It was just what needed to happen in order for me to enjoy the long holiday weekend (because I tend to mentally take my work home, if something is not quite working right).

We had a lovely, quiet Thanksgiving with friends. We went out for a four course dinner (OMG, you guys, it was amazing!), played Wii, watched a movie and just enjoyed the good company. I had an apple pie in the freezer that I had planned to make for a late dessert, but as you might be able to guess, that didn’t happen. We were so stuffed. I didn’t have any food until dinner tonight!

Today is Black Friday and I guess that most people are either a) Black Friday shoppers that get out there at 2 a.m. in the morning to snatch the best deals or b) people who avoid going to the stores at all costs.
I definitely don’t belong to the first group, but I did make it to the stores this afternoon and I must say that it wasn’t bad at all. There were no lines at the checkouts (only at one store, to be honest) and I was able to take care of some Christmas shopping and also bought a few things for myself. The bargains were just too good to pass up.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I made turkey soup and put up some candles in the window. oh yes, and cleaned. Today I want to have Hubby help me with the tree.

  2. Yeah but by the time you went it was over. The Black Friday wave ends between noon and 2 p.m.

  4. Four course dinner sounds great! I didn’t go shopping on Black Friday when I lived in the US, but sometimes I wish I had. I would probably not be one of the people camping outside a store all night though. ;)
