How’s NaBloPoMo working out for you?

Now, that we’re a little more than half way through with NaBloPoMo, I thought I would make a quick poll on how everybody’s doing. I’ve obviously just figured out how to add polls to my blog and I need an excuse to try it out :)

[polldaddy poll=2279098]

I am doing pretty good so far. I have not had a total “black out” day where I felt like nothing was coming to me. I have a few more drafts sitting in my drafts folder, which need a little bit more extra work.
I am feeling confident that I’ll be able to do the 11 days that are left.

I don’t think that I would ever be able to always post on a daily basis, but I’ve been looking forward to NaBloPoMo every year, because it gives you the chance to share stories that you wouldn’t normally post in the regular blog flow. Do you agree?
It makes me think about what I want to share with my lovely readers, things that I haven’t thought of sharing before.

Unfortunately, it looks like participation and comments have been dwindling after the first half of the month. I am hoping that this is not due to boring content, but rather general weariness of daily blog posts ;)
I have to admit, the only thing that makes NaBloPoMo a little stressful is that some days get so busy that I hardly have time to think about blogs, let alone to write blog posts or read and leave comments on other people’s blogs.
I do try though to comment as much as I can.
Especially with a project like NaBloPoMo, I know that any encouragement – in form of comments – is very much appreciated!

Before I end here, I would like to ask you: have you found some new, interesting blogs through NaBloPoMo? Please do share!

  1. San, I have to admit that I’m very happy you participated again this year. I think last year was how we “met”, no? Not boring in the LEAST!

    Great job on NaBloPoMo!

  2. It is never ever boring to read your posts ;) I do not participate in the NaBloPoMo but I love to read what you’ve to tell.

  3. I am somewhere between “it’s a breeze” and “struggling”. I voted for it’s a breeze though. With struggling I mean “time” because sometimes I so busy that I just don’t have the energy to write something. That’s when I post pictures a lot. :)

As for new blogs: I haven’t found any interesting ones yet. Most blogs just talk about “and then I did this and then that” which I usually don’t like reading. I enjoy topics when it comes to blogs. That’s why I enjoy reading yours. I did however open up to the military wives blogs recently which has been a good experience.

  4. I write every day, even though I chose not to join in again this year. (I couldn’t figure out how to do it)
Only very occasionally do I sit down to write and not have something come to me.
But then, I have always had way too much on my mind.

  5. I failed big time last year because my head just wasn’t in the game. It wasn’t for lack of time, I just always forgot. This year is going much better.
.-= doahleigh´s last blog ..The hot one =-.

  6. Oh My! I have so much to say! This is my first year and it is alot harder than I thought. I guess I don’t really have much to say and have filled my blog with lots of “fluff” posts (as you know).

What I have realized is that I don’t want to post because I “have to”..I want to post because I “want to”. And don’t worry..I’m still reading and commenting and your posts are lovely!

Wish me luck on the next 11 days!!

  7. This is my second year and it’s much easier this year, not sure why though…I’m busier at work and with homelife so the only struggle for me has been to post at a normal time. I feel like if I post at 11pm one night, I shouldn’t post in the morning because then my 11pm post is not given the dedicated time it might deserve. :)
I have had a lot to say lately, I haven’t felt any pressure to write when I didn’t want to – though last Friday I posted from my phone after leaving the bar because I forgot to post before something before I went out for the night.

Between working more, doing stuff at home and keeping busy on my own blog, I feel like the downside to writing every day is it cuts away from my commenting time. I still read a lot, but don’t always take the time to respond.
