  1. We do have a dining room and that was something on my “must have” list. It probably wasn’t on my husband’s though. But I love having people over for dinner and I have a large family so if they come over, we kind of need a dining room. We have an IKEA dining room table that stores 2 leaves. It’s made it through several moves miraculously. I would be sad to not have a big table like that although I recognize that is not possible for a lot of people depending on the style of their house. We have an open floor plan with the dining room area adjacent to the kitchen so our home is nice for entertaining – but we have very little casual sitting so it’s hard to host groups when we can’t be outdoors as there isn’t anywhere for people to sit after dinner if they want to get up from the dining room table. But it works out fine.

I’m trying to imagine launching myself out of bed like a rocket ship… I think Phil WOULD NOT BE PLEASED (I get up before him and try not to wake him when I get up).

  2. Another great list of links. Thanks San! Our first house was a 1920s weatherboard with a dining room, but since then, we’ve had open-plan living and dining without a separate dining room. We still have a big 10-seater table though so we can have big dinners.

The idea of launching myself out of bed like a rocket ship is not appealing.

  3. I enjoy lists like this one. We have a dining room with a table and chairs and sideboard in it. We use it for playing board games and putting jigsaw puzzles together. We eat at the kitchen counter. I still like the room, but realize it’s about as useful as an appendix.

I suffer from the Zeignarnik Effect. Unfinished projects live rent-free in my mind. Must close all loops so I can think clearly about everything else.

  4. I need to check out the 10 game changing travel tips. And of corse I saved the tuna pasta salad.
I haven’t read many blog posts lately so I have nothing great to share. Sorry.

  5. Love your links! I don’t launch, but many times, I do jolt awake, whether it is to an alarm or just…waking up. I just tend to wake up very suddenly. I don’t physically launch out of bed – that would be a recipe for disaster, for sure – but I rarely, if ever, roll over and go back.
I do not have a dining room, nor do I have a table. I prefer my space a bit more open, so just sit at the mini-bar at my island. It’s just me, so there you go. :)
