We couldn’t have planned this any better. My friend Susi and I met up for a girls’ day out on Saturday and, unbeknownst to me, that happened to be “International Women’s Day” (IWD). What an awesome coincidence.
Susi had a day out sans kids which practically never happens and we met up in Walnut Creek for a day of shopping, pedicures and girl talk. The weather was beautiful and hanging out was just what both of us needed.
We had some fun sipping champagne and trying on super-expensive clothing items at Neiman Marcus. I honestly haven’t laughed as hard in a long time as when I was stuck in a $4500 (hideous!) white Chanel ruffle shirt. The store attendant urged us to try some things on (“have some fun!“), although she must have known that we were not going to buy anything. We did have our eyes on some gorgeous ($500) Chloé scalloped flats though. They’re actually on my wish list now.
We had a delicious piadina-lunch at Tomatina, did some shopping and finished the day off with a nice and relaxing spa pedicure. We both agreed: we should do this every Saturday! Ha!
Girl friends are good for the soul!
Other good things this weekend:
bread baking ♥ coffee ♥ Netflix ♥ knitting ♥ phone calls with my family ♥ tea ♥ getting out taxes done ♥ movie night ♥ meal planning ♥ Thai food ♥
How was your weekend?
