A little late, but I wanted to recap our Thanksgiving weekend. Four glorious days off and nowhere we had to be. J and I stayed put over the holidays and it was great and relaxing, just the two of us.
On Thursday, I slept in and then made a big pot of coffee after getting up. I had contemplated running the local Turkey Trot, but ended up just doing my own private Turkey Trot around the park. In the early afternoon, we started preparing our Thanksgiving Turkey Chicken. I love the process of being in the kitchen for hours. As sides, we had delicious stuffing, green beans, and scalloped potatoes.
On Friday, I got our grocery shopping done (who knew the supermarkets would be empty on Black Friday!) and we had leftovers for dinner. In the evening, I watched the first episode of Gilmore Girls “A year in the Life”. Then I moved on to “It’s complicated” (love Meryl Streep, love that movie!).
On Saturday, I stayed in my PJs all day long. Oops. I binge-watched the other three Gilmore Girls episodes, while getting a bunch of work for my Etsy shop and Christmas preparations done.
On Sunday, I slept in and then had my usual phone calls with my family. After lunch, I went out for a run. It was a beautiful fall day. Crisp air, but sunny. I had set myself a goal for at least 6 miles, but it was one of those days where I felt I could just keep going, so I got in 8 miles total and it felt really good. When I got home, I took a hot shower and then we did some laundry.
The weekend was relaxing and productive at the same time. I like it that way.
How was your Thanksgiving? Did you stay home or see a bunch of family?

December 7, 2016 at 6:53 amYour Thanksgiving sounds so wonderful and relaxing! And your meal looks so good! I roasted my first chicken last month and it was soooo good. I can’t wait to get another chicken from my meat CSA so I can roast one again. Sooo easy and so good!
My Thanksgiving was really nice. We celebrated at Phil’s mom’s. It was just the 3 of us so it was a quiet celebration but it was a really nice day. Then the next day I flew to Spain but before going to the airport, I managed to watch 2 of the GG episodes!
