Dos and don’ts

Edited with Phonto. https://phon.to

A long time ago, my friend Nora wrote a fun post about her “dos and don’ts” and I had saved the post idea in my draft folder. Today, I am going to share my own.

I do…

+ hit the snooze button one too many times every morning.

+ have to get back into my Sunday morning visit to the Farmers Market routine.

+ plan to finally make (and hopefully stick to) a monthly budget instead of just tracking my spending (although that has worked well enough for us in the past. We’re apparently naturally living within our means.)

+ need my 9-10 hours of sleep on the weekends. And naps. There is nothing wrong with naps.

+ enjoy good company + conversation over brunch and need it more often in my life.

+ wish that 2015 turns around and will be a good year not just for me, but my friends whose year began with struggles.

I don’t…

+ have to justify anything to anybody and I need to remember this.

+ watch many of the popular TV shows and feel like the guy in the (Netflix?) commercial that doesn’t know what everybody’s talking about.

+ have a good system down to archive and organize my (iPhone) photos. Can anyone recommend something that has worked for them?

+ ever get half the things done that I want to get done on the weekends. I think it’s less disorganization than just trying to squeeze in too many things. Anybody else with this problem?

+ write as much snail mail as I used to and I need to change that ASAP.

What are some of your dos and don’ts?

  1. This is a cute post! I might save it myself for later… I can’t really think of any dos and don’ts right now!

  2. Maybe it’s all those naps conflicting with your weekend productivity!! ; ) LOL

  3. Naps are good! Very, very, good!

  4. I have that same issue with my iPhone pictures. I basically create a folder on my computer and external hard drive, dump the pictures there, then erase them off my phone to make space on it again. This is not a good system. Maybe organize them by month and year? And if you take pictures on a trip for example, then label that in “X Trip 2015” folder? If you find a good way of doing this, let me know!

  5. Yes to naps! Man, I love napping. I tend to plan my weekends around napping. ;)

  6. This is a fun post idea! I might have to borrow it, too! I do check my library account every day to see where I am at on the wait list for the books I have requested. I do spend a lot of time looking through recipes and coming up with ideas of things to make for Phil and I for dinner. I don’t sleep well and I don’t have the ability to nap which is too bad as it might help offset my exhaustion from not sleeping well.

  7. I organise my iPhone pictures by year and month into folders that are named (for example) “2015_04 iPhone” Although that worked better when I didn’t take so many pictures on my iPhone as now one month can contain a few hundred images.

  8. I seriously try and squeeze too many things into the weekends and never ever get it all done. I need to get better about that. I do love showers, like a whole lot. And I don’t know how I can handle everything sometimes. But alas, I try.
