This picture might seem familiar – I posted it a couple of weeks ago to show you some little improvements around our apartment. Last time, I was raving about our new curtains and how much they tie the bedroom together. I am still thrilled about them.
However, let the tiny white arrow direct your attention to the very best change I made to our apartment this year: our new (Tempurpedic memory foam) bed.
We had been sleeping on an Ikea sofa bed for the last 18 months and even though I personally can pretty much sleep on anything without a problem, J was complaining about back pain and restless sleep. We needed to invest into a good bed, a real bed; and I think we deserved it, too.
A good comfortable bed should be the most important investment when you move into a new place. There is nothing more important than a good night’s sleep and I am glad I finally shelled out the money for this. It’s been high time.
I might want to add: Even though I didn’t (think that I) sleep miserably on the sofa bed, I definitely sleep like a baby on the foam mattress. OMG! It’s like sleeping on clouds.
What was the best change to your place this year?

December 13, 2009 at 7:53 pmI agree on the mattress. It was our best investment this year too. We just love it! I sit on the couch and watch TV and my back hurts after an hour or so. Well, I go to bed and everything is gone. Yeah Foam!

December 13, 2009 at 11:36 pmYes, I slept over at a friends house on one of these matresses and it indeed is heavenly! Unfortunately I just now can’t justify the investment as we have a pretty nice bed as it is. But Tempurpedic rocks! And its Swedish!

December 14, 2009 at 11:26 amWell, I just moved in with my sis last month so everything there is new to me! I love my bed too — it’s not all tempurpedic, but we do have a foam mattress pad that I swear is three feet thick. SO COMFY!
I love my location too — 10 montiues from everywhere and in a really nice neighborhood, I’ve never lived in a neighborhood and love getting to walk around and see hosues and churches and stuff.

December 14, 2009 at 11:38 amI can see the picture, and have hunted everywhere for the tiny white arrow and can’t find it…it’s like an I Spy game!! Fun!!
I agree – a bed is most important and a great investment. They last for decades, right??
I just bought a new house this year. And then I spent way too much money trying to furnish it nicely. I think my favorite pieces are my oversized chair and ottomon – the first brand new piece of furniture I’ve ever bought just for me!!! I also really love my patio table and chairs.
I also love your comforter and sheets! Great colors.
