Monthly Favorites | August

At the end of each month, I share things that have made me happy, new discoveries, or recommendations that I find worthwhile. Enjoy.

1. I’ve been living in – not the exact ones, but similar – Jeans Bermudas by Refuge for the last month. I am so glad I can wear casual wear to work! Shorts and Birks is where it’s at, my friends.

2. I picked up a Ripple Protein Shake*  at the SF Marathon Expo a few weeks ago and I am always a little wary of bottled protein shakes, but it was actually really good. I liked it so much that I actually picked up a four-pack at the store.

3. I had a Fleet Feet monetary reward sitting in my account that was about to expire, so I picked up some new Balega Silver Running Socks*. I have quite a few Balega socks and they never disappoint.

4. I mentioned this a few times before, I don’t watch much TV at all, but I am obsessed with the 90 day fiancé* Reality TV show on TLC. It’s just so damn entertaining.

5. When I got my ends trimmed (a while ago), I asked my hairdresser what I could use to keep my ends hydrated and healthy (because they tend to dry out first) and she recommended Marrakesh Oil Hair Styling Elixir*. I have to be careful with any kind of oil that I put on my fine hair because products weigh it down so quickly, but this oil really works great for my ends.

6. I am usually not much of a wedge sandals-kinda girl, but I somehow fell in love with these: Blowfish Malibu Hapuku Wedge Sandals*. They’re super-lightweight and very comfortable. Only criticism: the velcro closure. It’s not a problem for me (they fit well), but I’d have preferred an adjustable buckle.

7. I’ve been eating Milk rice like it’s my job.  (Are you tired of hearing about this? Oh well, wait for September. It’s almost here.)

What was one of your favorite things this month?

  1. Ich habe auch ein ähnliches Öl von meiner Coiffeuse erhalten für die Spitzen. Ich liebe es! :)

    1. Super! Ich bin für solche Tipps immer dankbar! :)

  2. I’m so intrigued by milk rice/ is this what you shared on your stories some time ago?? Must try! Also those wedges are cute and will look for Ripple next time I’m in the grocery store!

Hope you have a great weekend ❤️

    1. Yes, milk rice is what I shared on IG stories recently.

They have Ripple milk at our regular supermarket, but if you’re looking for the shakes, check Target!

  3. That’s awesome that you can dress casually at your workplace. Our company changed to ‘dress for your day’ this summer so I can wear jeans now. No shorts but I’d never be able to wear them anyways because I freeze in our office in the summer!!

Something I loved this month was fresh produce like locally-grown corn and watermelon. Yum!!!

    1. Haha, our office is usually on the cold side as well. I always have a cardigan with me!

  4. 90 days all the way – Before, After, The other way & Pillow Talk! So entertaining !!!

    1. YES! I am so glad I have someone (YOU!) to discuss it with! :)

  5. I have those exact wedges and they’re so comfortable. I’ve only worn them once though. And I agree, they’d be that much better with a buckle versus the Velcro and strap. :)

  6. That oil sounds amazing. I’m going to have to try some of that. I love those sandals! I have never tried milk rice but it looks good, so I’m going to need to add that to my list ASAP. Hope you have a great weekend!

  7. That is great that you could get something for your ends. I really need something like this because I’m trying to grow my hair but split ends are a pain that need trimming!
That milk rice sounds really interesting!

  8. I wish I could find a protein shake that I actually like. That would be great. lol 90 Day Fiance is one of those amusing “suck you in” type of shows!

  9. I am also struggling with dry, thin fine hair and have been using oil lately. It does help but still I wish I good just have instant improvement. Wearing casual clothes to work is such a relief, isn’t it?
