hardly believing that my job woes are finally coming to an end. It’s been such a long time coming. I almost didn’t think I would see the day.

feeling shitty because my best friend is going through a tough time and I can’t (physically) be there for her. I sometimes often wish I lived down the road from her.

appreciating a good night’s rest – especially after battling a nasty summer cold this last weekend. I haven’t been sick in forever and really didn’t need this right now. Blegh.

eating all the fruit (strawberries, watermelon, apples,…!)

enjoying our decluttered and cleaned up apartment so very much.

wearing jeans and Saltwater sandals.

re-reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.

working on accepting the things I cannot change.

counting down the minutes until my family’s arrival this week (my parents + nephew arrive tonight!!!!).

looking forward to J’s face when my 5-year old nephew will greet him with “Hello, how are you?” (he learned that in Kindergarten!).

loving the fact that I’m about to enjoy  three full weeks of summer vacation, including road tripping, sightseeing and relaxing.

watching baseball.

keeping in mind that nobody’s perfect and everyone deserves a break (me included).

  1. Ooh, I totally need to re-read the Happiness Project. I remember that when I read it the first time that I definitely came away motivated to find the happiness in the little moments of life. I hope you enjoy your visit with your family!

  2. Ugh I feel ya on being far away from friends, I so wish we could all live close to each other and comfort each other easily. And hurray baseball, it’s the best! Also, hurray summer vacation, woo!

  3. It’s so great that your Family is coming over and you will be off with them for 3 weeks.
Enjoy it and I am looking forward to your pictures and details about trips.

  4. BOO to colds! A number of people in my office have also gotten summer colds recently. Something must be going around again.

But yay for family and saltwater sandals! (By the way, I totally broke down and got the tan ones too.)

  5. Hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family!!! Loved your Instagram of their arrival – you were glowing with happiness :-)

And yay for no more job woes!

  6. Have a wonderful vacation with your family!

  7. I should go back and re-read the Happiness Project, too. Someone was asking me about it recently and it’s been so long, I couldn’t really give them great examples of tips from the book…

Have the best time with your family!!!!!

  8. Yay! Have so much fun with your family these next few weeks! That’s so awesome they’re here in Cali!
