A Christmas weekend trip to SF

Last weekend, J and I decided to spend a day in San Francisco. We usually don’t get to go around Christmas time when we’re traveling overseas, but this time I wanted to go see the decorations at Union Square and enjoy a day in the City. We picked a beautiful day for our day trip!

We first had brunch at The Plant Café at Pier 3. Someone had recommended the place to me before and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and we had a full French Press pot of Blue Bottle coffee, which was very good.

The weather was perfect really, a little cloudy, but relatively calm and warm. We walked along the piers and enjoyed the views.

There was – as always – a beautifully decorated, huge Christmas tree put up at Pier 39.

We hung out for a while at Ghiradelli Square…

… and then took a nice, long walk back to Union Square, where we had some hot chocolate and enjoyed the decorations!

San Francisco is always worth a trip, but it’s especially lovely during Christmas time!

  1. I love it!!!!! So pretty! Going to NYC this weekend; we should catch the tail end of the decorations! EXCITED – almost more so for the decorations than anything we will do while there. Hehe.

  2. That makes me miss San Fransisco.
However it really is no Christmas town for me. Just can’t wrap my head a round it.
Have a wonderful end of the year.
    Love, Tobia

  3. So fun! Definitely doesn’t look like Christmas around here :0)

  4. Lovely pictures! I don’t think I’ve ever visited SF around Christmas time. I should really do that next Christmas!

  5. This looks absolutely beautiful! Such a great little getaway. Even though you couldn’t be home with family this Christmas, it sounds and looks like you had a wonderful time regardless.

  6. Wow, that Christmas tree is beautiful! And I love the palm trees decorated with lights :) It looks like a fun weekend!

  7. That looks so lovely! Glad you got to go and visit!
