Easter weekend recap

Untitled

J and I took a little trip to SoCal over Easter to visit family and our weekend started off with this amazing view of Yosemite National Park from the plane. I honestly can’t get enough of it and try to get a seat on the correct side of the plane when we fly down in the hope of spotting El Capitan and Half Dome. I labeled them in the photo, in case you couldn’t spot them yourself (sorry for making assumptions!).

We had a wonderful, sunny weekend and I am warning you right now that this post is photo-heavy. I can’t see, however, why one would mind pictures of a sunny beach in April. I for one couldn’t get enough of it.

We went up to Ojai on Saturday and explored the little stores and had coffee.

Later we went to the  Father Serra Cross Lookout and had this amazing view of Ventura and the ocean.

Then we went to the Pier and had dinner at the Aloha Steakhouse. I had an excellent Grilled Portabella Mushroom Salad. Yum.

On Easter Sunday we had a slow morning with coffee on the patio. Later we had a delicious BBQ lunch and then went to the beach again. Basically, we spent a lot of time close to the water. It always makes me feel like I am on a mini-vacation.

How was your Easter weekend? Did you hang out with family or do something fun?

  1. THESE MADE ME HOMESICK. By which I mean, your pictures are gorgeous. <3 Glad you had a lovely trip!!!

  2. Oh goodness, gorgeous photos! And that first one makes me want to go back to Yosemite, stat.

    xox

  3. What a fun get away! Looks like a beautiful time, how nice!

  4. I love how your final question insinuates that hanging out with family can’t be fun. ha. I know you didn’t mean it that way, but it’s funny anyway. =)

I loved all your photos of the beach – and I totally agree that any time when you get to spend a couple days by the water (assuming you don’t live by the water) does make it feel like a vacation!!

We did spend Easter with Sweets’ family, but it was very low key. Church, lunch, change of clothes and an afternoon spent outside playing t-ball, basketball, hanging out (and eventually, I snuck away for a little run).

  5. That shot of Yosemite is incredible! Looks like such a beautiful weekend you had on the Central Coast. :)

  6. My, what gorgeous photographs! Just stunning :) I had an EXTREMELY relaxing weekend, spent fossicking around and exploring the beauty of my own (current!) town :)

  7. I love that you included so many photos! I never get tired at looking at pictures of the ocean and it’s especially nice for me to see them since I don’t see the ocean often being so land locked! It looks and sounds like you had an awesome getaway. There is just nothing like being by water!

I had an awesome Easter with my family in the eastern TN. :)
