Things I did this weekend:
• We watched “Real Time” with Bill Maher on Friday. This show alone pretty much justifies our cable subscription. It’s my favorite thing to watch on Friday nights.
• I went to the gym not once, but twice. Yay! One of those times, I saw a girl working out with a scrunchie and a disc-man. Ha, so 90’s.
• I wrote some birthday cards, sorted and filed bills, and cleaned up our dining room. (I have a tendency to pile all papers that arrive during the week on our dining table and I know it’s a bad habit. I need to find a dedicated place for new bills/mailings.)
• I had a long phone talk with my sister on Friday morning. Often when we talk, I forget that she’s 6000 miles away. Talks with my sister are the best. Just sayin’.
• I studied for the civics test for my Citizenship Interview.
• I went out to a (very) late brunch with J on Sunday. Sunday brunches are my favorite. Last week I went to brunch with Katherine (hooray!) and if anyone wants to volunteer for brunch next week, I am in!
• I took a Sunday afternoon nap, and I think I could get used to that.
Things I did not do:
• I didn’t see the Hunger Games, like all many of you did. My Twitter feeds were crammed with Hunger Games updates.
• I didn’t send off my taxes (as I had planned to do), mainly because I currently don’t have a printer at home and I couldn’t print anything for my records. Duh.
• I didn’t participate in the #twookclub chat this month, because I didn’t read the book “Extremely loud and incredibly close” by Jonathan Safran Foer. I had once before started the book and put it down half way through because I couldn’t get into it at all. While I usually try to finish pretty much any book that I start, it wasn’t worth it for me to force myself through a book that I didn’t enjoy.
Other good things this weekend:
sleeping in ♥ a phone talk with a dear friend ♥ tea ♥ warm, fresh bread ♥ Draw Something ♥ Real Simple magazine ♥ blue skies ♥ oven fries ♥ a new sports bra (sorry if that’s TMI) ♥
How was your weekend, peeps?

March 26, 2012 at 6:40 amSounds like you had a lovely weekend- I had no idea you and Katherine lived nearby?! Pictures, pictures!
You also need to go see Hunger Games. I needed to go opening weekend because I couldn’t bear the whole world talking about it and me avoiding any and all spoilers. GO SEE IT!
It’s also really too bad you didn’t like Extremely Loud. Not many people came for the chat, but with such a big book club it’s bound to happen t hat not everyone agrees with the choice! Hopefully you’ll like this month’s better :)

March 26, 2012 at 5:59 pmHooray for brunch! I miss brunch with friends and wish I was close enough to have brunch with you. That would be wonderful. I needed to file my taxes but didn’t. I should really get on that. Long distance high five for avoiding the Hunger Games movie during opening weekend.

March 26, 2012 at 6:23 pmI want to go to brunch! So sad we live so far from each other. Stupid long distances.
This month’s chat was super low on attendance so I don’t think you were the only one who couldn’t get through the book. I hope next month has more people!

March 26, 2012 at 9:44 pmI love Sunday brunch. And I love the salmon omelet on your brunch menu! Also, it looks like you take your coffee about the same color as I do. Speaking of brunch, on your recommendation I went to the Rockridge Cafe, which is near my house. You were right. The apricot scones were delicious.
I did not watch The Hunger Games either. Although I know I will eventually. I also did not participate in the #twookclub, since I did not read the book either.

March 26, 2012 at 10:36 pmOkay, now that motivates me to go to the gym. I really need to get back into the hype of going! I’m really interested in finding out what The Hunger Games is all about but I’ve read that some people said that the movie was awesome if you didn’t read it. I’m not sure yet if I want to read it or not, haha.

March 27, 2012 at 3:12 pmYah, EL & IC was a tough book to get through. I only got through it because of Twookclub – otherwise I would have given up! In the end, I am glad I stuck with it. It got better in the last 100 pages or so. I would never recommend it to someone else, though.
A scrunchie & a discman? That’s awesome!!

March 27, 2012 at 7:56 pmHow are you doing on the questions? I love my Iphone App – but unfortunately the test is not a multiple choice one…..
Brunch sounds good for me ….. let me know when you are in SoCal again ;)

March 29, 2012 at 7:31 amFor once, we’re free this weekend. Brunch? In Chicago? No? I don’t get it… =)
I did not go see Hunger Games, either. Though, that should be no surprise since I didn’t see/read any Harry Potter or Twilight series, either. I’m so not into these hip series!
