While I am away…

Thank you all so, so very much for the sweet and heart-felt comments on my last blog post. It really means so much to me to know that you are thinking about me!

It’s almost 6:30 a.m. and I am about all packed. I’ll soon head to the office, as I’ll be working a half day today, and will catch my transatlantic flight in LA later this evening.

Since I’ll be gone for a week (with limited online access – I won’t be taking my laptop to Germany. GASP! I know, completely unthinkable!), is anyone interested in doing a guest post while I am away?
I have never done this before, but think this would be a good opportunity to try it out!

You could write about anything, maybe – in light of the recent events – a story related to your own grandparents, or if you have one of your own favorite blog posts that you would like to see re-published and share with us, that would be great too.

Let me know!!

I’ll try to be in touch as soon as I can.

  1. ME!!!!!!

LOL…ok, I’ve never done it before, but you never know, I may surprise you :)

  2. Travel safely and enjoy the moments you will share with your family, even if you will be going to say farewell to you beloved Grandfather. Celebrate his life and the love that you shared!

  3. I would be happy to—my grandparents are near and dear to me, and one passed away 2 years ago. Let me know.

    Take good care, friend. xo

  4. First of all, I wish a safe trip. To say Goodbye isn`t easy, but like Maribeth said…celebrate his life and the love you shared. This is just a temporary Goodbye. You guys will see each other sooner than you think. A life time on earth is just as long as an blink of the eye – it depends on the perspective…and he`s in good hands now…I am sure right next to your Grandma ;-) But still living on earth…in the “real” world…it hurts to go the rest of our lives without this special person…take your time to grieve. I learned, after all my very beloved grandparents passed away and I had to go to three funerals…that there`s more than we think. That our “reality” of life – right here, right now – is not the end. They are with us. Love is energy and this special kind of energy will always be with and around you.

    Take care…Hug

  5. Dear San!
After reading that you Grandfather all of a sudden past away I cannot stop thinking about one of the most important person in my life – my almost 95 year old Granny! I talk to her regular on the phone but her hearing is getting worse. I know I will get this call one day and I’m scared but your posts and the way you try to look back gives me strength. And I hope you will have the strength to say “Goodbye” and you can be happy that he was/is a huge part of your life. Travel safe!

  6. i hope you had a good flight and you are already in the arms of your beloved ones. i will try to catch you via phone. i know you won’t have time to meet up , but maybe i can send you your bday gift, while you are here and it actually gets to you not being ripped open. sending you my love

  7. I hope you had a good flight! Be safe!
